Action Research Plan: Computer Lab Curriculum
Goal: Will a structured computer lab classroom curriculum, designed using the TEKS (Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills), create an actively engaged and well-behaved group of students?
*For the purpose of this action research plan, I will be using Mrs. Pedon's class of 4th grade students.*

  1. That’s great that you’ve taken the initiative to create a technology curriculum to engage students. Equipping students with the skills needed to be successful in a technological age is crucial, yet often overlooked. I am curious as to how often students visit the computer lab and if any of the activities are collaborative or independent. Also, what is the role or title of the people listed under the “Person(s) Responsible” column and how are they involved? One thing that I realized when revising my action research plan was that I left out some details that might cause confusion to an unknown person interested in replicating my project. I look forward to following your project and your results!

  2. I feel that you are introducing the students to some useful programs. I did have a couple of questions. How long do the students spend in the computer lab each week? Did you undertake this project because there was a problem with behavior in the computer lab? What is different about the activities you are using and the ones that were used in the past during computer lab time? Good luck with your project. I look forward to following along as you progress.

  3. Thanks everyone for the comments. These really give me some good things to ponder and work on while creating my action research plan.
